kitchen poetry: day 4

kitchen poetry = true love and the gift of time through the assembly of Ikea hell

kitchen poetry = a kitty who loves boxes more than anything else in the world

kitchen poetry = a completed kitchen eating area with free standing island and a cool farm house style storage cabinet

My icky 1979 kitchen will function for the next four years quite efficiently.

That looks great, Raina! I'm a big sucker for Ikea. :) Last time we were in Calgary, I dragged my husband there and after we walked through the showroom he said, "oh! That wasn't bad at all!"

...Needless to say, when we got into the actual warehouse part of the store he was ready to go. Hahaha.

The cabinet looks really great, though. Love it. :D

Wow - that was a daunting task! It makes a super cute dresser - but where's the picture of the pile of unused nuts and screws....I know you must have some - LOL

I went crazy at Ikea a couple of years ago and bought a wardrobe, desks, chairs, bookcases.... you name it, I bought it.
Then I hired my brother in law for the day to assemble it all....

It is interesting about IKEA, I always forget, anytime I buy something there , that I actually have to put it together BY MYSELF!

Here everybody shops in IKEA, it is definitely the nicest cheapest. As a consequence, you come to someone's house and you just know what they have from there.

Your kitchen corner looks lovely, very country or rural or something like that. In fact, I am quite curious about your 1979 cupboards, I have been against big kitchen renovations lately, here it is such a fashion now, people build up huge kitchens as if they were supposed to change their life or something.

Lovely dresser! Is that it, pre-assembly, on the floor in the first photo?
My cat loves boxes too, and paper bags, and drawers left open, and suitcases, and small, dark hiding places of all kinds!

Love your kitchen, just lovely! and I learnt a new word - for me dresser was a person who made dresses... never a cupboard :))
