this and that

I have to admit that I am floundering here. It is 30 degrees Celsius today - for us Calgarians this is considered a heat wave. The only activity that makes sense is sitting on a patio somewhere, with trendy sunglasses on, drinking beer and people watching. I am sitting outside, on my step under our huge shade tree, drinking very cold wine and feeling too lethargic to even come up with something really witty to write.

Believe it or not I have decided to knit a little cardigan; but I got as far as six rows and it was put back in my favorite knitting bag until a cooler day; it does not help that it is black yarn. I went running this morning - was supposed to do 16 km - at 14.5 km I decided to call it a day. I love this hot weather, but us northerners are not used to it and our entire physiological system goes into shock. Well, I am going to leave you with a photo of a really cute green jug with just the right amount of peeling paint that I found in a second hand shop. It matches the nasturtiums in my garden and I take great pleasure in just looking at it :)

What a pretty jug, looks lovely with your flowers.
If you have heat then it'll work it's way east to Ontario. We have had no major heat all summer, I'm even knitting with wool and it's not too hot. In July - that's just wrong even for up here! lol

That sounds like our summers down here...except it starts in May and doesn't end until the end of October. Air conditioning is my friend. :-)

Try a wine spritzer - those are nice on hot days! I love your beautiful jug and pretty flowers - you have such a lovely garden and place to just sit and enjoy "being."

A black cardigan - hum - not a good time to start that project - LOL You ought to knit a hat - that's what I'm doing now :)

I do love the jug, ms. raining sheep,
It is too hot for me- I am sitting in front of the fan and still feel the sweat trickling on my neck.
We really are not used to the heat- I should be writing my blog but my brain feels a bit like mush-
Stay cool- soon you'll get to that cardigan.
Regards,
Anna

That really is such a pretty little jug, cheerful. I can almost smell that nasturtium :^)
The Summer heat, it's all relative,eh? It's been horrid with humidity and heat here but then that's what we get in this neck of the woods. and many months of it. sigh. and ick. It's why we have lots of shade trees.

we've been running at about 38 celsius for the past few weeks. ugh! i'm not a hot weather kind of person.

i'm just about to start a cardigan too, but mine is made with laceweight yarn. thank goodness i finished the one in rowan big wool! now that would be ugly in the heat. ;)

It's 105 here. Can I join you on the patio? I'll bring some sweet tea and Texas treats.

It's hot hot hot here too. Just want to sit on a porch with some lemonade and fan myself. Wish I could! Love the similar colors in your triptych of photos!

That cool, green jug is lovely...love the acidy greens and red touches here...I so admire your photography, Raina. Hope the heatwave ease...and especially so you can return to that cardi! Keep cool and enjoy summer while she's here. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

We are having a heat wave here too and I'm just praying it'll pass before I have to hit the field next week. Not likely though! I'm with you...wool and those temps don't work well together. What cardigan are you starting?

I always love your images and that jug is perfect with those flowers, I can almost feel the heat (here in England where it is not so warm)

We had a few hot days when I had Tiddler and the breastfeeding was unbearable so I can well imagine how difficult it is to knit right now. I'm with Mr Puffy, a nice white wine spritzer sounds just the job.

Sounds perfect compared to the poor excuse for a summer we're having in the UK! Especially the wine and shade tree!
