morning dance

I just can't believe it is September already. Somehow it snuck up on me and tapped me on the shoulder and said 'I have arrived'. I am pretending it is still summer and pretending that life is not starting to pick up significant speed. I think I will put real life on hold until after this long labour day weekend. The weather is still mild here and the pathways along the river are beckoning me to go running. I have been negligent in knitting duties and have one sock finished with the second barely started... there will be plenty of time soon enough to play with yarn as the leaves start turning yellow and the air gets that definite chill that signals that autumn is here. But for now, coffee in my garden is still the primary activity around here. The resident feline is in full agreement as she makes following the warmth of the sunbeam her task for the day.

I don't know why but this end of summer feels especially melancholic, at least around the "blogosphere". In Europe, it was extremely hot for a long time and it is finishing suddenly.

Pretty photos, as usual :)

Time is passing sooooo fast! I hardly believe we are already in September too.

The year certainly seems to be flying by and there's a definite chill in the air when I'm up in the night with Tiddler. I'm itching to get on with some knitting but just can't get to it yet - unless I manage to grow a second set of arms so I can knit and hold Tiddler at the same time!
PS. If you fancy yet more sock yarn, or a charm pack, I'm having a giveaway for my first blogiversary. Yes, the year definitely has flown by!

Yes, your resident feline looks like she's intent on storing up all those sunbeams against the cold months ahead!

So lovely.

Autumn is my favourite time of year, especially the start of it when just the nights are cooler ~ those few perfect days... Enjoy!!

I love the fall and it would not be so bad if it were not followed by winter.

Beautiful shots. I love the one of your garden clogs.

Summer certainly passed up quickly, for me though I am happy. I don't care much for summer. I'm ready for Autumn!

We've had a relatively mild summer here and it's already feeling a bit nippy at night. Very unusual, but very nice. :-) Love the pictures.

Coffee in the garden and running along the river...both sound fabulous. This will be our first fall away from the mountains in quite a few years and I am already lonely for the colorful display that the changing seasons usually brings. I will have to be content with the bare smattering of fall color that I can find in the few trees that dot these Nebraska plains (and look forward to next fall when we'll be somewhere else!).

As much as I adore Fall, I am sad to see Summer coming to an end. This unpredictable weather should make it interesting. Love your photos - always...

Yes, this really is a fabulous time of the year. I think I managed 3/4 of a sock the whole summer...

Oh yes cling on to the summer - here the chill is in the air but our autumn and winter will be mild compared to yours!

That is one happy cat! :o) Taking time to enjoy the last drops of summer was a good idea. Autumn has definitely arrived here in Norway--no changing leaves just yet, but it's chillier and the air crisp...So every sunbeam feels all the sweeter just now. Enjoy the days, Raina...Life is busy, but there are magic moments... :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

I love how you have your cat in your last three posts. We can learn fine lessons from our cats, can't we?
