playing with murky shadows

It's evening right now and the house is wrapped in plastic - a completely pointless solution to prevent drywall dust from permeating every corner of my dwelling. I have been so busy this past week that I did not even have time to pick up my camera and look at the world through the therapeutic angle of a lens. The house is quiet except for the soothing tones of 'yoga' music and most of the lights are inoperable so everything is shrouded in shadows. I kind of like it - the most utilitarian objects take on a surreal aura.

Everything is at peace here....except for the cat! She got a kitty pedicure today - fake claws. I bought new furniture and she destroys everything - perhaps this will be the solution. She has been licking and gnawing at her toes all night. She has pulled one off already. I keep hoping that she will get tired of it. Sigh!

Very relaxing photos. Interesting light as well. I laughed about your cat! Great job on your marathon too! Good for you!!! I would love to do one again. I did one six years ago and not since. It is an incredible experience, isn't it.

It all sounds busy there. I hope the Kitty gets over her claws! i took to putting double sided sticky tape on the stair carpet where our cat scratched and it put him right off!

Beautiful, calming photos. :)
Love the new blog look!
Hope Kitty gets over her new pedicure and stops ransacking your furniture.

Oh -- I always wondered whether those kitty claws really work. It sounds perfect at your house -- I love sitting around in the evening with the lights turned down -- and especially during the holidays with just Christmas lights on!

These photos have such warm ambience, Raina...very tender and dreamy.... What a circus there just now... what with all the home projects and now kitty pedicure to deal with. Hope she will adjust to her new "nails" soon. So nice to see you stopped by my place. All is good here...We're still dealing with some interior painting & wallpapering here and other home projects ourselves too... So I can relate--LOL! Happy Days, my friend :o) ((HUGS))

What a warm and inviting ambiance! I always love your pictures.... and so I'm giving you an assignment. Maybe something for Halloween ~ but only if you have the time and inclination :)

Hope that renovation project is getting close to finishing up!

..therapeutic lens of camera... this is what they like to call the ESCAPE in my country, with a sort of negative feeling to it. I don't like this attitude. Why do I need to feel like on the run all the time. (Think twice before you decide to visit here, it is still strange here.)

Are all those claws gone yet? Lovely shadows and so many congratulations for your marathon x

Lovely tones in those pictures. I tend to like less light...warm instead of harsh. I hope for your sanity sake the renovations are complete by Xmas! And more importantly that you find more time to release through your camera.

it's getting to be the time of year that we'll have lots of opportunity to photograph in waning light. Darkness comes too early, but these pictures make it feel relaxing and soothing!

I know what it is like to try to battle the invasion of renovation dust. Hang in there! It'll be worth it :)

Ah cats are such characters, fake claws sounds like a great idea though once she gets used to them.
