This is my busy time at work - I come home tired, I make supper, eat and then sit on the sofa and look at things...all kinds of things. Lately I am obsessed by old cameras. The kind that take film. The kind where the camera costs $10 and the film costs $30...if you can get the film that is. Having never really shot film cameras to any extent, I am intrigued by the concept. When I was little I got a Polaroid camera for Christmas. I don't know what happened to it - but I found this old SX-70 on eBay and had to have it. Now, I just need to get film.
I also longingly gaze at my basket of yarn and my 'pink' project that just needs two little, very little sleeves. I can't seem to get to those sleeves. Maybe this weekend.
And on an absolutely irrelevant point, the Babe dropped food on the cowhide on the floor and said he cleaned it up - the cat has been licking the cowhide for the last 15 minutes....I am guessing that the Babe's cleaning needs some work :)

The capture of time is precious ~ I can see why a camera intrigues you.
Lushes bowl of yarn ~ sometimes just looking at yarn is an enjoyable as knitting it!
Regarding the clean up.... sometimes it's best not to inquire too closely :)
Love the tulip and little bit of spring to cheer our hearts. Your 'new' Polaroid is fab, I loved the instant photo developing before your eyes in the days of week long processing.
What a lovely idea to come home and look at beautiful or intriguing things! And again, lovely photos.
Time is always precious,eh?
Hoping you get that time for bitty sleeves this weekend! enjoy :^)
Fabulous new camera!
That top photo tells the story, Raina! Old cameras are great collectables--so hard to get the films sometimes though. Hope you find some for this new old one of yours. The bowl with yarn...makes my fingers itch to knit--LOL! Oh, pity about the cowhide! Have you tried using a brush or vacuum with brush attachment after spot-cleaning for a little extra clean? That might help. It's been a very busy week here too, felt more busy than usual. So we're looking forward to a slow weekend now. Have a great one! :o) ((HUGS))
That is me to a T at the moment - knitting slowly, buying things instead - oh my I got some pretty ribbons though :)
Here's to quiet times soon before we need a second job!
Yeah, my idea of clean and my husband's idea of clean are two completely different things. LOL
I hope you get lots of knitting time to finish the pink knit. Polaroids are so good!
I can't wait to see what you do with a film camera, Raina - I wonder if the images will be completely different, or if the camera will demand a different light, different angles, etc. So exciting. x
Your basket of yarn looks so pretty and inviting. I hope you find some film because I certainly know how it is when you must get something out of your system. Have a great weekend!
the vintage capture is awesome Raina.
enjoy your weekend.
beautiful images Raina. I for one would love to see some polas from you.
Ok, that just made me laugh. I always light up when I see a post from you -- I can't wait to read them.
Have fun with your new old camera -- I'm sure there will be great things to come. LOVE the pictures in this post. The subtle pink is amazing!
I feel your pain with the pink sleeves. I have a sweater that is down to the button band -- I've been working on it for years and I'm hoping to get it done SOON.
Oh, you are going to love experimenting with film...and I'm going to love following along with that journey! Win win. :)
I love pictures that show so much creative possibilities...beautiful image and sentiment.
And at least Babe attempted to clean it up...trust me, not all men do!
That makes me laugh out loud. Cats don't lie.
I have seen some really creative artwork done with Polaroids. I remember reading about people trying to buy up the film when it was discontinued. The older I get, the more I dislike so many changes. I hope you find some.

ohh, just you wait. once you get the film for her...sigh. you'll never want to stop. I'm excited for you!
The colors in those two images are so beautiful.
Time seems to move faster by the day...
absolutely beautifl shots! hope you have time to relax and enjoy the beauty you bring to us:)
i just found your blog, i really love it. :)
Made me giggle:
'The kind where the camera costs $10 and the film costs $30...'
Yep. That's the way, alright - but how much fun is it?!?
(I removed my comment 'cos I did something silly with my 'profile'...hope this makes more sense...)
Looking and crafting are a great way to de-stress! Are you following the Olympics?
I love the color and light on that second photo especially... And I love the soft, grainy look of polaroid pictures... They somehow seem to capture memories the way I remember things - not sharp and assured, but rather a bit hazy and dreamy...and I like that. Very much.

I hope you feel better!
