so sorry, but it's like WARM here

Horribly late posting this week, but honestly, it was the most fantabulous day today. Warm, sunny - a sit-in-the garden-for-the-very first-time-this-year kind of day. I acquired a new toy and have been playing with it all afternoon - an old Hasselblad film camera. Ah! The agony of having to wait to get film developed. I have been working on my granny squares outside and my plants are starting to show. I love when mother nature obeys my commands :) Tencents sat outside with me and was in alert mode at every chirp from the birds - of course I don't actually think she would know what to do with a bird if it got near her. She is a bit scared of them!

I am savoring every second of this moment in the garden because here in our part of the world, it could very well dump snow next week and fall below zero.

Happy weekend all.

Don't you love that first wonderful day after a long winter? I remember the first beautiful day after our first long winter in Minnesota -- I excitedly called my sister and told her I now understood why people suffer through the long, dark winters. A day was never so beautiful!

My hubby has an old hasselblad. I think the pictures he took on it are still in it -- the big goofball -- he was never good at the follow through.

As always, I'm SO inspired by your photos!

Sounds perfectly love. The tulips are beautiful, although I am a sucker for tulips and pitchers and white. What a fabulous name - Tencents. :) Enjoy your weekend. That is the weather we had last weekend and this one is freezing and cloudy. Ick.

Hi, Raina...hello, sweet Tencents! :o) Did you say WARM? You mean warm like warm sunshine?! LOL! ;o) Oh, that first day sitting outside, tinkering around the garden is the BEST! Your photos drip of the golden warmth of the sun and enjoyment... Take your time and just enjoy every drop of that sun while it's there--and I hope it stays there! Here the snow is melting pretty quickly, though not too warm yet, still hovering around freezing...*sigh*...But the green tips of crocuses are showing and the birds are back and singing--so there is HOPE! :o) Love these photos, Raina...I get lost in them... Happy Weekend, my friend ((HUGS))

Sounds like the perfect day!

Speaking of cats that are afraid of birds, I had a kitty when I was a child that the Mockingbirds were swooping down and pulling out clumps of fur to line their nests. We had to keep her inside until the nesting period was over.

Oooohhhh...a Hasselblad. So jealous! Enjoy your warmth...we get the same sort of spring as you, never knowing when snow will dump a day after it's been in the 60's. Love the picture of kitten!

Yes, we are expecting the snowstorm after a beautiful weekend. I guess at least it waited for the working week...but the poor buds on the trees. Sigh.

The camera!!! I can't wait to see what you do. I'm on an unofficial hunt for some sort of film camera that I can get along with. I have awful luck.

What a wonderful day. It's raining here today, but it's a nice rain. I don't mind. We need a little rain so all of the gardens can do what they do so well, right? : )

We've had a few lovely spring days but apparently we're due another burst of winter in the next few days - not good for all the sprouting buds on my few plants. It'll be interesting to see what you get out of your Hasselblad - my Dad had one of those. I've got a couple of 'box' cameras: a Rollei, which I've never done anything with, and a basic Russian one, whose name escapes me - that gave me some 'interesting' black and whites!

Ahh, yes, here in Missoula it was so sunny the other day that I sat outside in a tank top, making earrings, and got sun burnt! Of course today it snowed. I love the picture of your kitty, and think that the name Tencents is such a wonderful name for a cat!
