I woke up to a white world this morning. Snow covered the ground - for the third time this month. I walked out on my patio and sank about ten centimeters into some wet, heavy white stuff and winds blew around me at a brisk 75 km an hour and whipped my hair into a frenzy. I shuddered and ran back inside. Normally I would be slogging my way through insane traffic to go to work, but kismet intervened this time - our company is moving into a brand new building. Moving hundreds of people into a new construction is akin to a military manoeuvre and we are supposed to be 'working' from home and are on an enforced day off tomorrow. Amazing how quickly I can get through work when an unfinished blanket is calling my name. There truly is progress being made - the blanket is wide enough to span the back of a sofa, but still a long way to go before it protects me from the elements!
Hard to believe that a couple of weeks ago I was basking in glorious sunshine surrounded by palm trees with the only frozen thing being the margarita on the patio table next to me.

Oh my - all that snow at the end of April just doesn't seem fair - sending you some spring blossoms.
The blanket - I love it - it's my inspiration pattern I described earlier this week! Soooo beautiful.
Snow? In May? Geez!!! Poor thing!
Oh goodness, snow again!! Thank heavens you have something as soothing as a blanket to get you through it. Wishing you sunshine soon.
Wow! Hopefully this will be your last snow of the season. The colors in your blanket are beautiful -- I'm so happy that you're able to sneak in a few extra crocheting moments!
Oh dear - bet you feel like Spring is never going to arrive! I'm really liking your blanket. I went back on my decision to finish my scarf/wrap before starting anything else. I'm making a Gaia shawl out of Noro Kureyon sock yarn. I kind of hate Noro but yet it fascinates me!
You have all my sympathy. For once we are having a lovely spring in Maine.
It does look beautiful, though.
Is there a pattern for that blanket? I'd love to be able to make one similar to that and I've been getting the "itch" to crochet.
So sorry to hear about all that nasty white stuff y'all have gotten. Brrrr...it's even been cool here.
What crazy weather! That blanket is GORGEOUS!!!
Wow! that is quite the storm. We had a good dusting of snow here one morning too, but it was gone in a few hours. very strange for spring. The blanket looks wonderful, love the colours. How are you putting it together. I have an ongoing afghan of squares that I have to finish soon.
What a lovely lovely blog post! We're in the 80*'s F here, and that snow photo (gorgeous, by the way ~ your photos) made me shiver with a well-appreciated delight. We just mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday and don't think we'll be seeing the white stuff for a while again. :)
Not more snow? Its meant to be spring! Your blanket is perfect and sounds so big!
You are brave to start such a blanket. I have done it ones, very hippie one, when I was about twenty. Still haunts me unfinished somewhere in my room.
Oh my goodness... SNOW??!! Oh, dear... I do hope it will be short-lived and melt soon! Happily that blanket will keep you cozy and creative in the meantime between work and snow! Happy Weekend, Raina :o) ((HUGS))
i can't BELIEVE you are still getting snow! that's just not right. but on the upside, your blanket is just gorgeous!!
I want to eat like Dallas Jean too.
Your blanket looks so good! Such pretty colors.
I heard about the crazy weather there! I hope the move goes well! Your blanket should keep you cozy now! Lovely colours!
