I have a feeling I am not the only one who sat glued to the television last week watching the miners in Chile getting pulled out of their dark tomb, one at a time. I could not help myself, but I cheered when that first man was brought up from below and every little compartment of my soul rejoiced that they were all alive and well. What choked me up the most was that the most important thing to them was seeing and hugging their loved ones. It made me think of Nando Parrado - he was one of the people who survived a plane crash in the Andes back in the 70s (you know... the movie 'Alive' was done based on that story). I went to hear him speak at some executive training motivational thing. He alway ends his story with the following words:

~Savour your existence. Live every moment. Do not waste a breath~

These are such powerful words. To honor those words I am enjoying an evening in with the Babe, drinking some very, very nice wine and eating cheese - because you know, life is just too short to be on a diet :)
