the art of alone

There is an art to being alone. In my case it requires a tidy home, some tea or wine, really nice magazines, and I mean nice... this weekend, it's kinfolk, a beautifully scented candle, music and otherwise...absolute peace, quiet and serenity. Alone is writing in my journal, or simply gazing at flowers in my garden on a nice day, lounging around inside when the clouds roll in. Today I cut some branches and my weekend flowers were procured.

It is an art, and all the better, you seem to know precisely what pleases you. Enjoy.

I love being alone, but I know several people who don't like it at all. Perhaps they need to read your words!Your photos are beautiful!

I couldn't agree more, Raina... There is definitely an art to create splendid alone time. I love being alone, and I need a certain amount of time and space in which to work, dream, relax, etc. You should be an interior decorator... you have such great style--your home look so cozy, inviting and stylish! Love your charcoal gray sofa...and kitty too. ;o) Happy Days ((HUG)) P.S. your fingernails are looking every so stylish and good too!

I just found your blog via the Gardener's Cottage and feel like I have been given a sweet, little gift. There is a soulfulness to your posts, and I look forward to exploring more of your work.
