burrowing in

Drizzling, snowing, pretty nasty weather out there; all pointing to a fattening and hearty breakfast, reading old Anne Rice books (the Mayfair witches series), and later on maybe a beautiful glass of port...oh, and of course, I will put the fireplace on as well. Ha! the Babe is outside shovelling dirt and doing man's work and I am glad I am not him.

I made baked eggs - basically I stir fry anything I happen to have on hand - today it's bacon, peppers and onions, crack the eggs on top and bake at 375F for about 20 minutes. I contemplated sprinkling all with sharp, shredded cheddar. Realistically, I have gained two pounds over the past few weeks and I am already killing the Babe and I with the four or five (who is counting?) pieces of bacon in the dish...so I forswore the cheese. Sigh!

Hope you all have a happy weekend. Can you believe it's October 20th? Like...where has the year gone...it's Halloween in a week and a bit. What gives!

That sound delicious - all of the from the weather to the food! I know what you mean about the year though. It seems the older I get, the faster the years fly by.

Over in our neck of the woods the season is turning from spring into our hot summer, so now we're into the salads and stuff.......but I would still like to take on that nice dish you've baked with the eggs, bacon, etc.....yunny!!
Cheers, Anita.

Oh, how lovely! LOVE these baked eggs and can't wait to make them one weekend soon! It's been raining for days here and we've been nesting a lot. Autumn is flying by though... Happy Day, Raina ((HUGS))

And poof! Just like that, it's October 28th. I've completely lost October {sigh}. Those eggs look fabulous, and now I'm hungry!

Those baked eggs look luscious! Perfect cold and drizzly weather food. And now it's suddenly October 29th - where is the year disappearing to?

That looks completely delicious! In fact, your whole routine sounds perfect (I haven't read the mayfair witch series in a decade but remember loving them...maybe this is the sign to re-read?).

Have you tried Donna Hay's Bacon and Egg Pie? Love it! I am giving you all my naughty recipes today.

But two weeks off my raw diet and I've lost 3kg eating normally. Perhaps it's the zero wine policy.
