a flexible mind begets change (change 4)
"The root cause of frustration, irritation, anger and sadness is an inflexible mind..."~ Leo Babauta
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become." ~ Buddha
The hardest change for me is to open my mind to flexibility. I don't know lately if it is age, some kind of onset of pre-menapause or something :) but I have been raging in my head, unhappy, stressed to the point of breaking sometimes. Perhaps this is because I have lost 'me' to my job and the huge amount of hours of work have replaced some other, pleasurable aspects of my life this past year.
It's easy to meditate, walk, focus on tasks...all those changes have a method, a system that makes sense to me - but allowing my mind to become more flexible is stumping me right now. Here too there is a method. Just once a day or even start with once a week, embrace your irritation, your criticism, or whatever you are holding on to, notice it, observe it and let it go. Practice that forever! I have decided that some changes are a life-long journey!
Happy weekend all.

Good timing. Just now feeling quite inflexible... Trying to lighten up.
Being that I'm right in the throes of menopause, I can safely say that flexibility is challenging. Thanks for the reminder, and for your kind words.
Beautiful words Raina! I love the thought to embrace that which is irritating you. It's probably hard to do but gets easier with practice. Thanks for a lovely, thoughtful post -- as always!
GORGEOUS images, Raina! Your advice has such wisdom in it. Flexibility is one of the hardest things to embrace and gently release. A bit like snapping elastic--pull it out, let it go, it comes back refreshed...LOL... ;o) Like with most good things in life, it takes the whole life to learn them, appreciate them and embody who we truly are... ((HUGS))
Absolutely! Allowing ourselves to acknowledge stress or frustration is part of letting go. I hope this daily practice gets easier as time passes ... For us both!
This is something I've been actively working on lately. And I think that you have finally convinced me to buy the 'changes' ebook. I think I would really benefit from making some of these changes as well!
