fresh start and MITs (change 7)
I realized this week I needed a fresh start, a clean slate and so I cleaned house...and every single day this week I focused on the MITs (the Most Important Things). I chose two or three things I needed to get done or wanted to get done in a day, and I made those the most important things and got them done. What did that do for me? It gave me a focus for each day, I felt like I accomplished something worthwhile at the end of the day and it gave me a reason to celebrate!
Sometimes, changes do not have to be complicated or have a lofty aspect to them. Sometimes the simple things are the most satisfying...anyway, that is what I am discovering.
Happy weekend.

A wonderful discovery. Funny how we have to learn and re-learn the simple lessons the most. I know I do. :)
Beautiful photographs as always.
I should, belatedly, thank you for putting me on to Zenhabits! Love his ideas.....And you are right. Sometimes just accomplishing the simple everyday jobs is very satisfying.
Love your pic of tulips, by the way!
I do that - when I'm feeling out of sorts or just like I'm floundering and a bit lost, I will tidy up an area. I think just the act of getting a physical space in order helps me to get my mental space in order too.
Shoot! If only I'd read your post at the beginning of the weekend instead of the end. A guide for next weekend. As always, your photos are gorgeous!
MITs. Yes. It should be simple, yet it seems far too easy to find my MITs lost in a blur of cluttered thoughts and errands and such. I like your focus and am planning my upcoming M-F to work in similar fashion. Enjoy your week, Raina.
LOVELY, Raina... you images and words! So often it is the simple things that move me. It is the simple things that call to me most. We were under the weather with colds at the weekend, so that really makes a body slow down and consider things. Charlie-kitty enjoyed that we were going slow--more lap time. ;o) He turned 13 this year. Out boy's getting old too. So glad your Tencents is doing well now! ((HUGS))
Oh Raina, wish that I had your discipline to even decide on the important things. Once a butterfly brain, always a butterfly brain I'm afraid. Loving your photos these days.
I did something similar a couple weeks ago and for some reason it just made m feel (mentally) so much better. I let this slide the past week and I can tell.
Oh yes, clean starts are so fullfilling! I'm having one at the moment! Great blog :) like it here!
