Every year I used to go and spend countless dollars on new decorations for the Christmas season. This year I did not buy anything, rather I used what I had in creative ways. It felt good. I don't know if it is because I am getting older but I don't want to buy any more things. Rather it is being with the one's I love that seems to matter more.
We had our family Christmas celebrations this weekend because my son is working in Northern Canada during Christmas and so we celebrated early. It was my little grandson's first Christmas and truly, this was the best time ever - watching baby Blake rip apart paper and tissue and screeching with delight at this simple pleasure. After next week I get a bit of a work break and am so looking forward to some quiet time of rest and relaxation.
